SUGAR & SPICE are 2 amazing kittens that came to Animal Alliance from a hoarding situation where an individual in Northwest New Jersey was in possession of more than 50 cats. Animal Alliance's Planned Pethood clinic worked closely with the Humane Law Enforcemen tTeam of NJSPCA, led by Officer Lisa Deutsch to spay/neuter and vaccinate all the cats, as well as treat them for illnesses, in conjunction with their placement with rescue groups and shelters across New Jersey, a true collaborative endeavor. The Animal Alliance clinic staff was smitten with sweet SUGAR and SPICE who were very ill upon arrival at Planned Pethood. SPICE the male cat had already lost 1 eye to an untreated eye infection while his sister SUGAR had sadly lost both of her eyes and was permanently blinded due to neglect. Simple antibiotic ointment in her eye could have prevented the tragic outcome of the loss of sight for both cats. Luckily, SUGAR & SPICE don't let blindness stand in their way from exploring their surroundings and loving their lives! They are super active, playful and unbelievably affectionate. SUGAR & SPICE must be adopted TOGETHER to an indoor only home where they can be safeguarded from falling down stairs or injuring themselves by falling from any height.
